We Make Market – Crafting a new Camden

Camden Market was famous for pretend punks, Amy Winehouse falling over, random rave gear [OK, so who doesn’t need the occasional glow stick?], herbal highs, slightly crazy people and tie dye, but it’s all changing thanks to the lovely people at We Make London. Bringing craft back to Camden is their mission this summer with not only a pop up shop selling the best local designer/makers have to offer, but also a boutique market on the first and third Fridays throughout the summer months.

As always there were some fantastic traders there and here are a few of my favourites…

My next door trading neighbours Croskology who, among other things, crochet bunches of flowers. When you get flowers as often as me (i.e. never) then a bunch to last forever is most appealing…

And Smile know how to make a super cute brooch or two…Image

Designer Samantha Morris had brilliant pretend historic plaques for your houses and these rock and roll prints…

But my personal favourite was Kate Rowland Illustration. I mean, come on, who doesn’t need a Game Of Thrones inspired brooch #teamJohnSnow…

And, OK, here’s a little bit of shameful self promotion, this is what my stall looked like…

And I finally had my baby changing mats ready for sale…

And my portable chalkboards…

And finally my chocolate lollipops for budding super spies who need to be able to devour their disguise once the mission is over…
